صفتهای فاعلی و صفتهای مفعولی

 بعضی از فعل ها با پسوند (ed) به صفت مفعولی و با پسوند(ing)  به صفت فاعلی تبدیل میشوند

amuse

The cartoon didn't amuse the children.

The funny monkey amused the children.

They amused themselves by watching TV.       

bore

He bores every one with his long stories.

Teachers try not to bore students in the class.

excite

Please don't excite the children too much or they won't sleep tonight. 

surprise

I arrived early to surprise my mother.

confuse

They confused me by asking so many questions.

frighten

Sorry, did I frighten you?

tire

Old people tire easily.   

She's got so much energy – she never seems to tire.

distress

Please don't distress yourself.

shock

I was shocked at the news of her death. 

She was shocked by his death.

His behaviour was very shocking.

worry

Mothers worry when their children don't come home at usual time.

Don't worry if you can't finish it.

depress

This cold winter weather really depresses me.

She felt very depressed about the future.

Looking for a job these days can be very depressing.
